He acquired the level of B.A (Hons) in 1975 and that of MA (Economics) in 1978 from University of the Punjab, Lahore. A business person, who offered twice as Nazim, Lahore Metropolitan during 1983- 91; as Member, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab for 2 successive terms throughout 1988-90 and 1990-93. He has gone back to Punjab Assembly for the third term in general political elections 2013 as well as is functioning as Leader of the Opposition and also Chairman, Public Accounts Committee-I. He has taken a trip to USA, UK, Switzerland and also Saudi Arabia.
